2023 marks another milestone year in the chapter of Powersystems journey, fantastically celebrating 30 years in the wind farm market.
Since Powersystems first wind farm installation at Goonhilly Downs in 1992, Powersystems has been actively involved with wind farm projects ranging from single turbines to 70 plus turbine wind farm sites across the UK.
46 years’ commercial operating experience in the design and installation of high voltage electrical infrastructure has placed Powersystems in an ideal position to carry out wind farm electrical balance of plant contracts.
Some of our notable wind farm projects in the last 30 years include;
- The onshore works for the largest offshore wind farm in the North Sea, Dogger Bank
- The largest onshore 76 turbine wind farm in Wales, Pen Y Cymoedd
- The 56-turbine site Dorenell Wind Farm
- The 60 turbine Crystal Rig phase 1 and 2
Powersystems’ high voltage specialist electrical engineers have helped connect 30% of all UK wind farms connecting a staggering 5 GW of wind farm projects to the National Grid.
By 2050 the energy sector needs to fill around 400,000 jobs to build the net-zero energy workforce and Powersystems are playing their part in offering rewarding careers to those who would like to help the UK to reach net-zero on greenhouse gas emissions by this milestone target.
Wind is a key component of the UK’s strategy to achieving its climate goals.
Powersystems’ portfolio of wind farm projects stretch the length and breadth of the UK, providing career opportunities for those wanting to work in the ‘green energy sector’ with apprenticeships, a graduate program and summer placements all available.
