Powersystems Launches “Let’s Talk About Mental Health” Campaign

October 10, 2024

Mental health is a critical component of overall well-being, and at Powersystems, we understand the importance of providing support and resources to our employees. Our campaign highlights crucial contacts for various mental health support services, including:

  • The Lighthouse Club – This charity is dedicated to providing emotional, physical, and financial support to individuals and families within the construction community. They offer a 24/7 helpline, safe meeting spaces, and a variety of online resources. The Lighthouse Club is committed to making mental health services accessible and helping those in need navigate through challenging times. For more information, visit Lighthouse Club.
  • Mind – As one of the UK’s leading mental health charities, Mind provides invaluable resources, information, and support for anyone experiencing mental health problems. Their services range from helplines to online guides, enabling individuals to understand their rights and access the help they need. For guidance and support, visit Mind.
  • ANDYSMANCLUB – This peer support group aims to create a safe space for men to discuss their mental health struggles. By fostering open conversations and building a sense of community, Andy’s Man Club empowers men to seek help and share their experiences. Discover more about their initiatives at Andy’s Man Club.
  • Samaritans: Available 24/7, Samaritans provide a safe space for individuals to talk about anything troubling them. Their trained volunteers listen without judgment, helping to alleviate feelings of isolation and despair. Samaritans’ services are free and confidential, making it easy for anyone to reach out for help. Learn more at Samaritans.

At Powersystems, we also prioritise internal support mechanisms to aid our staff in managing their mental health. Our team includes St. John’s Trained Mental Health First Aiders, who are ready to provide immediate assistance and guidance for any mental health concerns. These trained individuals serve as the first point of contact for employees seeking help, offering a listening ear and practical advice on accessing further support.

In addition to this, our Employee Assistance Program with Health Assured offers confidential support for a wide range of issues, including mental health, financial worries, and personal challenges. Employees can access resources and professional guidance through the Health Assured platform, which includes 24/7 counselling services, legal advice, and various online resources tailored to employee needs. More information can be found at Health Assured.

Through our “Let’s Talk About Mental Health” initiative, we aim to foster a workplace culture that promotes open discussions around mental health and encourages everyone to seek help when needed. We recognise that mental health affects all of us, and by providing these resources, we hope to empower our employees to take proactive steps towards their mental well-being.

We encourage everyone at Powersystems to engage with this initiative actively. Whether through sharing personal experiences, utilising the available resources, or simply being there for a colleague, each of us can contribute to a supportive environment where mental health is prioritised, and help is readily available.

We invite all partners to participate in discussions around mental health, share their thoughts, and reach out for support when needed. Let’s work together to break down the barriers surrounding mental health, fostering a community where everyone feels valued and supported.
